So I did a dirty thing...I entered a poster contest. No prize, not certain of who holds the rights. I'm sure some NO-SPEC'ers out there will frown upon me. But you know what? I really don't care. One of my favorite shows, Castle, just celebrated their 100th episode. I was there from the beginning, when we weren't sure if there was even going to be a second season, much less a fifth! I've enjoyed every minute of the wit and mystery. So when I heard about the #Castle100 poster contest, I jumped right in. Not for fame or money, but because it was fun. It was my way of contributing and showing a TV that I care so much about how much I really care. I don't even care if I win the contest, I'm proud of the finished piece. So to me, my time and skills spent were well worth the effort.

Cheezy Trek T-Shirt Offer
The people at Cheez-It crack me up. They have a nice Trek related t-shirt reward on their recent packaging. It's a pretty cool lookin' shirt:
This is the part that cracks me up:
Now, I know that the new Star Trek has a broader appeal; however, I'm fairly confident that most "regular" folks won't be wearing this t-shirt to any social or sporting occasion...

It's That Simple…Or Is it?
What the heck is up with advertising these days? I just saw a commercial for a local chain (Elder-Beerman) and the ad was for their "Virtually Everything on Sale" sale. What the? So they couldn't put everything on sale? Did they not have enough employees to mark every item down?
That commercial reminded me of this pic I snapped in Boston:

So how is it simple if you're adding exclusions? That's ridiculous. If you're going to have a "simple" sale, have it, don't half-ass it!

TBS Gets Annoying
TBS debuting a new interstitial. As if the ads that pop up at the bottom of the screen aren't annoying enough, they go and fully interrupt the show you're watching! I hope this idea dies a quick death. Via Kottke.org.

That's Unfortunate...
We had several severe storms roll through our area this past week. My favorite local news channel was bumped off the air at one point, so I switched to another station. I think the folks in the graphics department need to talk with the people who post the severe weather notices because as you can see, there was a little unfornatune placement of a severe weather notice…
